That's exactly why people need EDUCATION - we can only talk about the pitfalls about Pet Stores and Mills - we can't make people stay away but the more it's said - the more people are possible reached that may not know where the puppies in Shops come from
it IS a personal decision whether to buy or not to buy at a Pet Store...to save or not to save.
I hope everyone knows when I get on my soapbox I mean NO offense to the puppies bought in stores - I'm very glad they have good homes and love....but there is a bigger picture and people NEED TO KNOW THIS....that's why the many threads about this same subject
You guys who have a Pet Shop puppy please look a it this way.....We have threads about tinies more prone to illness - we see LOTS of this - 'HELP - MY TINY IS SICK !! What about the people with HEALTHY Tinies ?? Should they be upset ??
we have threads about people unhappy with SIZE ..
HELP - MY YORKIE IS TOO BIG- Should people like ME be upset cause my Chanel is Ummmmmm.... 'voluptious' ???? No....
(and that one DOES get on my nerves sometimes but I would never say anything) When I see posts about big yorkies - what I want say is 'Just BE GLAD YOU HAVE A HEALTHY DOG " ...
I look at it this way - lets get upset at the people we
should be upset at - mills, Pet Stores & unethical breeders who don't give a D**n....places like Wizard of Claws or The Jeff Danes of the world.... the people who
intentionally BREED tinies.
If someone feels hurt - think of the thousands of puppies out there at the mercy of the many places I just mentioned....and try to remember - we aren't putting down the people who 'saved' a dog -
we're putting down the people that MASS BREED AND SELL THESE DOGS without caring one bit about how many die in the process...
