First off, let me say how very very sorry I am for your loss. I really do know how you feel...I lost my parrot after almost 20 yrs (they live for up to 100) due to a stupid accident and then what amounts to neglect on the part of the vet hospital. I will never ever get over losing my baby. BUT, at the risk of sounding flip, nothing will bring your baby back to you. I could have sued the person who caused the accident, and the vet...but what good, really would that do me? My constant companion is gone and nothing will bring him back. What you have to know, is that you loved your baby and that you gave it a good life while it was here. Accidents and illnesses happen and it's not anyone's fault a lot of the time. Know that your puppy knew love from you and felt secure in that. We can't know EVERYTHING and as far as I'm concerned, veterinary practice is just THAT....PRACTICE. It's very difficult sometimes to know WHAT to do and when a lot of people have financial constraints too, it makes it hard to determine without going to huge expense, and even then, possibly losing the animal.

We can always blame ourselves for these things; and second guess everything; "why didn't I.....(fill in the blank)" or "why did I....(fill in the blank)", but the reality is, that most of us do everything we can to give our companions the best that we can, and it doesn't do any good to blame anyone. It's a good thing to learn from these bad experiences and go on. Hopefully from this you will learn that you need to check out your breeder thoroughly, check out their other puppies and talk to previous clients, and you'll know that these little guys need immediate vet care (even if it turns out to be nothing, it's always better to be safe than sorry) when they're sick or not eating or their elimination isn't right. If you love dogs like you say you do, take the time you need to mourn your Tara, and keep her memory alive, but give another wonderful dog a good and loving home when you can. I think Tara was blessed to have spent the short amount of time she had here, with you and your love. Again, my sincere condolences.
