I went through this with my girl no very long ago. She was doing it every day several times and she had done it before but once in a blue moon. Anyway I took her to the vet and they gave me the alternative to benadryl for dogs and she was supposed to get better but she never did. Anyways I took her in again and the vet was going to do something where they had to put her under to look at her brain but thank God she stopped like two days before. She now is fine does it every now and then but she is fine. Maybe you need to ask for these meds. I know that it feel horrible and just desperate as you feel they are suffering and full of discomfort. Just hang in there.
