It is too young. The woman I got Cowboy from wanted me to take him at 6 weeks. I say "No Way!" At 7 weeks, she said "Hey, if you don't want him, others are asking for him". I did want him...terribly so. I had already paid $500 down. I took him at 7 weeks and, thank God, all went well. However, I do know that things could have gone wrong. People who force you to take a dog early are the ones that generally will never take a call from you afterward. There is much more to it than a pup being able to eat food and drink water. I hope you end up with a pup that is happy, healthy, and brings you many MANY years of happiness! |
