I'd have it checked out. Before my hubby and I were married, he once got scratched by my mom's cat -- it was worse than a scratch. She jumped off the stairs and scratched Jim from his chest all the way around his back!!
It was awful and it happened in a matter of seconds. Her nails tore through his shirt and ripped his flesh -- there was blood everywhere. Jim immediately began having trouble breathing, so we rushed him to the ER. Turns out he had a severe allergic reaction to the cat. They even kept him at the hospital over night!!
