I know some towns have stores where it is like wholesale prices (where the contractors buy from), but sometimes, they are open to the public. That might be good if you have one close....you can get top of the line, name brand appliances really cheap....my inlaws did this with their house.

Also, if you aren't very handy.......you might what to go with someone else doing it........for the electrical end of it, etc. Sometimes, if you knock out a wall, it needs to be inspected to make sure it is an area that can stand to have the weight shifted around (if that makes sense). - Like when we built our house, it is 3 stories and we had to do some interior walls really thick, that can never been knocked out because they help brace and hold up the other floor.

Sometimes, (also depends on your area), you can find people who do this (like small business ads) in your local paper. I know in our local paper, this section is several pages long w/ everything from yard work, remodeling, pools, etc. AND most smaller "mom & pop" stores will have fliers and business cards from people posted that does jobs like these......look at the smaller hardware stores and lumber yards, etc.

Good luck and have fun!
