I’m a little suspicious; do you think maybe she had the dog quarantined because your vet would not be able to see Parker until all evidence of the abuse had healed? It’s going to be her and her assistant’s word against yours. If you would have been able to see your vet right away she could have seen the welts.
Many towns offer low-cost Microchip clinics with vets volunteering; it sounds like she did it as some sort of community service obligation! Definitely inform the clinic that this doctor doesn’t know how to handle scared animals and also inform the senior vet at the place she works. Just because this is low cost does not mean the animals should be treated poorly. Good luck to you and Parker.
