never had that problem with max but poor little dixie had that problem twice when she was younger too and then i read to keep the hair back there trimmed i too use a mustache trimmer it works well and it sure kept the problem from returning the first time it happened it was so bad bless her heart she cried as we tryed to get it off the more she cried the more i cried finally i took her to vet and made him do it i am such a softy lol ... so u arent alone i think its common so just trim trim trim lol
