I use to get cramps really bad, they were very painful and would last for days. I tried Pamprin and Midol, Pamprin seems to be the better for me,and I tried other pain meds as well. They worked at first but then they didn't help at all. The heating pad did help alot and I had it set on high. I talked to my doctor and he suggested birth control pills. After trying several brands I finally found one that worked really well for me. Now I don't have any cramps. Of course the birth control I have to have will not be as effective in preventing pregnancy, one of the hormones is lower. But I am not on it for preventing pregnancy, I am on it for my cramps so that part doesn't matter to me. I would try out different brands as they all have different amounts of hormones added. Like I said I had to go through several different ones before I found one that worked for me.
