Animal Smiley 049 Thanks for your information you may have saved my Corky

My husband and I returned from a brief five day trip to Cairo only to find our yorky, Corky, sick with diarrhea. The lady who looks after him said she took Corky and her yorky to the park and they played with another yorky while there. After playing for 20 minutes or so, the other yorky stopped and vomited everywhere. She said she asked the owner "did you know your dog is sick?" and the owner casually replied "oh yeah, she's had diarrhea and vomiting for five days now". Of course our friend screamed "AND YOU LET HER PLAY WITH OTHER DOGS?" So, of course, a little over 48 hours later, both her yorky and my Corky came down with bloody diarrhea etc. I ran him to the vet here in Paris and told him exactly what you had written on Yorky talk. He was very impressed and said, that is exactly right, where did you (a layperson) get that information? I told him and he jotted the web site down. I think he was intrigued. Corky has started his meds and I pray that the diarrhea stops soon. Apparently several other dogs have gone to our vet over the last few days, so it is definitely going around. Add to that that only about 20% of dog owners pick up after their dogs, so I think that is part of the reason it is spreading so fast in my neighbor hood. Thanks again all of you wonderful yorkie owners on yorkie talk.
