I believe she is cowering due to everything being so new to her. She is so used to being the top dog in my house that this whole idea of being submissive is new and even maybe scary to her. The sound "tuning fork" instrument does not hurt them or damage them in ANY way. It is simply a tool to interrupt the unwanted behavior and to redirect. If it works without hurting her or yelling, hey I am 100% for it. At his point we are UN-learning some very bad habits and that while not a comfortable feeling for dogs, people or kids, a very necessary one.
