My Yorkies are swimmers. I had the pool built so they have there on entrance and exit. They know where to go in and get out of the pool. Plus when we take the boat out to the lake they run for the water and then play first and then get in the boat and sit on the seat. If I had a Yorkie that could not swim, I would teach it first before letting it in a pool. Get a baby pool and let them run around in it first.
