We finally figured out that Susan made almost all her mistakes between 3:00 and 5:00 in the morning. We just make sure she's crated at that time of night OR sometimes I put her leash on her harness and attach the loop end of her leash to the front of my nightgown and let her sleep on the bed. She can't get away and doesn't try. Now that she's used to not making mistakes, when she's desperate to go out during the day time, instead of just looking for a place in the house, she makes sure she lets us know she wants out. For some reason this 3-5 a.m. trouble spot was really holding back her training. Once we got that licked, the rest of it fell into place.
