She might have pyometria and it is extremely important to have her treated if necessary. Any temp? Eating well?
Let us know what your vet says.[/COLOR] |
The day she gave birth, I took her to the vet to have her and the pups checked out. I told her that I did not see her pass the last placenta, but I did fall asleep when all was said and done so I wasn't sure whether she did or didn't. The vet told me not to worry. She said it's nothing that will show up on an x-ray even if she did retain it.
It's like a brownish-red. Not bright red like when us women bleed during "that time" but more like how we bleed towards the end. It's reddish but also brownish. She's been like this since birth.
I havent taken her temp. I didn't really think about it. She's acting normal, and full of life. She's eating a LOT but im told that's normal since she's feeding 3, 18 day old pups. The more they drain from her the more she eats.
Im not sure what to do since the vet says nothing will show until there was an infection. Should I take her there and have them give her that shot anyway? IS it to late to have that done? Can it cause damage to her?
