Alot of the time they will go back to having accidents. You just need to start the training over and remember to be consistent. Rather than letting her go there on her own, take her to her litter box every so often to see if she has to go. Try to be as consistent as you can so she will learn to be consistent.
As for the punishing thing, I woulden't do it. It never works and just confuses them. Just clean up the mess and take her to her litter box. Try not to give her the opportunity to have an accident. Watch her like a hawk or tether her to yourself and when she starts looking around or giving a sign she has to go, take her to her litter box and praise and reward her if she goes. With alot of puppies, you have to be consistent for a long time up until they are a year old. If you are not consistent, they can and will break their training. |
