Oooooh, I'm so glad you posted this! Max is the same way whenever I go ANYWHERE. When I come back home, he races around in circles and then runs to somewhere soft, and turns over on his back so I can give him a "belly rub" and then I have to pick him up and he can lick my face all over for a few minutes. He's totally all boy; loves to play, get into things, but he also loves to just lie on my lap when I'm on the computer or watching television or reading. He's really pretty laid back. And we take him out to restaurants all the time and he's really calm. He has two sisters; one loves to play with him, running around their yard, but she isn't outgoing at all; she hates being around a lot of people (her owner has tons of big parties all the time and she just runs and hides) and doesn't play the same way Max does even when he's on his own. His other sister, though, who is about 1/3 his size, is really outgoing and loves to play, so I guess it just depends on the dog. The mom is more aloof for sure; she acted like she'd never seen Max before in her life, LOL. Must have been the child-birth trauma, hehe. But seriously, the mom when she came over to visit once, wanted nothing to do with any of the other dogs at all.
The other reason I'm so glad you posted this, is b/c I'm going to get a job, and I've been stressing out about leaving Max alone all day~ in fact, was going to post something about it. Now I have a really good reason to get another puppy ! I've always had at least one of each, no matter what animal I had, so I'd get a girl this time. I think they're all loving, but I was thinking that having 2 boys, they might be too competitive? Good luck whichever you get; I'm sure it will be a loving little furbaby!
