We paid $750/ea non negotiable for each of our pups. They are 5 and 7 lbs, male and female respectively. That was last year and I think they have gone up considerably since then as they are in the top 5 most wanted dog right now. We just had our first (and probably last) litter. When you breed the small dogs, you are taking a considerable risk. It could be potentially very expensive if there is a problem. We were very worried that Zowie might have problems or we could lose her! All went well, but they are our pets, and as good as they are, I don't want to have a breeder house. It is a lot of work - with both mom and dad here, they have had to be seperated since about 5 weeks, we have cages everywhere and I have become a slave to the dogs now - pet one, pet the other, take one out, take the other out, move one, move the other - even with visitors, they each had to have their turn to say hi.

And our pups are only one day old. Now everytime they go to sleep Zowie wants me to come hold her until she hears a squeek. If I wanted to sell my babies to strangers, I might think that a higher price might make the dog more valuable to them, increasing the chances of their having a loving and pampering environment?
