Its funny, because its nothing new... and I've read it here a thousand times and thought.... yeah right! That will NEVER work on my dogs! Ha!
Well.... Her name is Cary....
She walked in and was Horrified when she realized that the barking was coming from my house!!! And once inside she was like... WTF?!?!?!?!
She asked me if I drank coke?? I said NO! WHY?? (I was yelling cause Pixie was barking so flippen loud!!!!) She said she needed a can....
A can?? Then I told her that I was almost done with a sugar free Red Bull... I was hoping to sprout wings so I could fly somewhere quiet!
lol
She said pound it and rinse it out! So I did! And then she asked me for 10 pennies!
10 pennies.......
then it hit me.......
she was making on of those racket can things......
What a total waste of time!!!!!!!!!
This was never going to work!!!! But it would be really funny to watch her FAIL!
So I played along!!!! All this time Pixie is Barking like a dog possessed!!!! You would have thought we were dangling a kitten outside her crate!!! it was BAD!!!
So we stuffed all ten pennies in the tall slender can.... and used a few strips of packing tape to seal the deal... and ta da!!!!!
it was done!!!! The ten cent can of doom! or Cary's Big embarrassment!!!
I was sure the latter of the two was going to be the title for sure!!!
She "instructed" me on its use! "Now Kathryn, all you have to do is say... in a very calm but firm voice.... NO BARKING! and then give the can ONE VIOLENT shake! I'm serious... give it a really good up and quick jerk down! not a bunch of rattling around... just an up and DOWN! its the down crash that will jolt the daylights out of them!!!"
so...... I said it and I jerked that can and Pixie and Paris looked at me like I grew a second head! Andthey were quiet for 5 minutes! then paris started and pixie was a second behind her... so from the other room, I picked up the can and called out "no barking!" and gave my can ONE SHAKE! and 20 minutes of silence followed! the next streach was 3 hours! Its day 4 and I have not shaken the can once today!!!
In fact the UPS guy knocked like the POLICE! on my door today and pix made a gruff like she was almost going to bark and I looked at her and said no barking... and she stopped.... I opened the door and signed for the envelope... my ups guy said... I was expecting the dogs to be barking.... I told him that they are listening now... he looked shocked! it was so cool!!!!!
I am amazed!!!! Seriously! I was going to have Pixie DEBARKED 6 months ago! It was that bad!!!! Who would have thought 10 pennies could change my life like this??? they are totally different dogs!!!
Just a warning.... they will totally recoil when they hear the noise... they DON"T LIKE IT!!!! but you won't have to do it for very long... 4 days later all I have to say is no barking... But the can is handy, just in case...
And don't over use it... you don't want to lose the effectiveness.... Thus, only one powerful shake!
