Star Happy Hubbies are important too

I also wouldn't blatantly go against his wishes. I have found after 40 years of marriage if you can just quietly and consistently tell him what you want and why, he will eventually give in. No whining allowed. I think that husbands think ( and maybe rightly so) that we are impulsive and don't fully understand the complications. I really want a Maltese pup but it is strictly an emotional issue. I have the cutest Yorkie in the world (doesn't everyone?) and we do plan to do more traveling (have a son & family in MD). We have taken Little Bit with us but I don't really like staying at only hotels/motels that will accept dogs, not being able to go into a nice restaurant or take tours etc. when I'm traveling. As sweet & tiny as she is, it still dampens the fun of traveling. Next week we are going on a cruise & they won't take her there either. So its off to the doggie kennel with me worried the whole time about her. She does affect our freedom to do things we want to do & he is afraid that 2 would be twice as bad. Also, I have heard that Maltese need a lot of grooming. Between she & I both having our hair & nails done regularly, its a big expense and time consumer. So I'm waiting for the Maltese. I'm not sure exactly what I'm waiting for, maybe when we no longer do as much traveling? For someone to drop a cute little Maltese in my yard?

Anyway good luck to you and remember that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Oh, but wait, it wasn't a flie you wanted, was it?
