That is such a sad story about the dachsund! Please make sure if you crate your dog, ypu removed any collar, harness, clothing, necklace or anything tht could get caught in the wires.

A little puppy Boston Terrier named Adonis got his bone-shaped ID tag caught in the wire mesh of his crate when his owner was at work and the poor thing strangled himself.

I would have never thought something like that could happen and it may be just a freak thing, but I wouldn't take the risk.
