Mine all wear regular collars all day. I have never had any problems with them, the dogs don't mind them at all and they don't break or matt the hair. Poptart and Destiny also wear step in harnesses all day but Trixie and Scampers can't wear a step in harness all day because they chew through them,
so they only wear the harness when going outside or for a walk. They all have several tags on them so you can hear them jingle everywhere they go.
