Last year we had a flea problem. I finally had the pest control guy come out. He sprayed the house and yard. He said to really get rid of them you have to hatch the eggs. The vibrating from the vacumm hatches them. I had to vacumm twice a day for two weeks. I too have hardwoods. He said sweeping doesn't do the trick. The sprays and whatnot can't kill the eggs, if you get them to hatch them the chemicals work. He also said that the eggs can lay dormat for months. So vacumm like a wild woman. don't forget under beds and couches. I hope this helps. Also paul mitchell tea tree shampoo helps keep them off. It is great for their skin. A little pricey. I have also heard that the more you wash the less effective the spot treatments are. I use frontline every two weeks as well. Molly likes to get dirty so she gets 2 baths a week.
Also if you treat the yard. Do the front, then wait a few days and treat the back. That way you can still take your dog out to the part that isn't being treated. Good luck. I know what your going through. I though we were going to have to leave home and bomd the place. Thank goodness I haven't had any trouble this year.
