What a lovely memory to share. I don't think it was offensive, just a beautiful reminisence of how things used to be.

By the way, "Baby's Wish List" is a great way to let people know what you need. They don't have to buy them if they don't want to. When I made my daughter a shower for one of her babies, we ran around registering all over the place and ended up getting tons of beautiful pink clothes, none of which she registered for.
