One of mine does this too. When she does I say "show me". She knows that after I say "show me" I will follow her.
If we are outside it means she wants me to come and chase her while she plays keep away with her toy.
If we are inside she is "telling me" under no uncertain terms that she wants a treat. When I get up to follow her she usually leads me to the treat jar. I know she is hungry and wants to eat a treat instead of her food so I tell her "no, eat your dog food". She usually stalls for awhile to see if I will change my mind and then goes to her food bowl and eats. It took me a long time to figure this out but now we both understand each other. If she keeps repeating this I just ignore her after the first couple of times and she will go eat.
Oh, she will also bark to tell me other things. Once there was some stuff blocking her entry into her crate and she led me to the crate to show me and another time a blanket was blocking her doggie steps to get onto the bed and she came to ask me to move it for her.
She has also barked at me like that to show me that her "brother" Teddy Bear is chewing on something he stole from the night stand. I just know when she barks like that she has something to show me. We get a laugh at her little "snitching" episodes. |
