A heating pad on low will also help comfort him.

I would feel safe in giving baby aspirin for a short time, but be very careful on the dosage - a 1/2 of a baby aspirin is for an 8 lb. dog. Buffered aspirin not coated - 5 mg. per pound - no tylenol, advil etc., - just aspirin. Crush it up and put it in food.
