Less than 8 weeks is REALLY young. Good breeders usually keep their puppies with their moms until they are 12 weeks old or more to ensure a healthy happy puppy. Health should also be a factor as well. If you're desperate you might want to consider some give and take in your criteria. You can also consider just getting your mom a box with puppy stuff in it like a chew toy and blanket with a card saying that you are saving to get her a puppy. This way she can help pick him out with you and there isn't a possiblity that it didn't "fit her criteria" as well.
