Sounds like she is back to normal now. As far as expense, the sky is the limit. A c-section can cost over $2,000 if you have to use an emergency hospital. Will probably cost $1,000 or less from your vet (not sure of course). My vet charges $50 for an x-ray and $29 for an exam. I had to have it done twice. It is a good idea to take Mamma and pups to for a check up within 24 hours of whelping. Some wait til the 3rd day when the vet docks tails and removes dew claws. I pay $25 per pup which includes the tail docking, dew claw removing and a shot of antibiotic. Mamma also gets a shot at this time (or if you took her within the 24 hour period). If all goes well, you should be good til week 6 when it is time for their first shots (if that is when your vet recommends them). Then it is time for shots again 2 weeks later. Most vets will charge a "multi-visit" fee at this time and not charge per pup. Hope this helps a little.
