I forgot to mention - we do of course had to have her fast for the Bile Acid test and maybe that's what it could have been too. She loves to eat and not use to holding back her food. You do have to leave your babies for this test, since they have to draw blood several times - once after fasting and again after food. But I did also have the full blood panel done too, since there is some controvercies with just using the Bile Acid test.
By the way - just thought I would mention for people that agrue the cost of pups - the fee for her visit yesterday was 187.00 with a discount that my vet gives me. I would never switch from him, because I feel that he is just the best! He even calls me long distance if needed, since I live in another county and I have his home number for emergencies.
I also asked about spaying and neutering the pups before the age of 12 weeks (like I have seen some do) compared to selling limited registered pups - this way I know the pups will be spayed and neutered. He did not recommend spaying or neutering until they are at least 5 months, since it affects their bone growth if done earlier than 5 months.
Then it will be 850.00 for stud service and this is all before pups are here. Of course I have some money saved for a c-section or other emergency, just in case. The stud service is normal fee for the quality of this stud, so I am not complaining. I am more than happy to pay this. He is the best for the match of my girl.
If one truly does it correctly, like I plan to do - how much will it all end up to cost? I can post later to let you all know when we are all finished.
Sorry this is so long, ut wanted to have all information available.
