Buddy is the same. There is something you're supposed to do to train them to drop what they have in their mouth, but I haven't been super good with it.
Thankfully I don't spend too much time outside with him - he is a total city dog - so I just have to make sure I take him places that there isn't anything on the floor that he can get to.
It has definitely made me cleaner than I had been! Or maybe it's just that the mess has moved higher up?
