I think people want to know about the ears and size because when you think of getting a yorkie everyone wants one that is to the standard of the yorkie. I know I had no plans on showing mine when I got her but I did want one that met most of the standards for a yorkie. I didn't so much care about the size as the coat quality/texture and the upright ears.
