Putting her crate on the nightstand is a FANTASTIC idea! Poor little girl is just sad because this is the first time she has ever been alone in her whole life...of course she is going to whine. She is used to being with her littermates. Letting her know that you are there in some way, even if it is not letting her sleep in bed with you, will defaintely help a whole lot. If you do let her sleep in bed wtih you again, I really don't think you'll roll over on her...it is just our instinct not to roll over on the little ones. And, they move out of the way. I've never heard of anyone ever rolling over on their dogs and hurting them when they sleep.
