My opinion is it would be a blessing to the 80 year old woman, and her dog, and your dog! I'm sure the woman loved the dog dearly, and wants a good home for him, but was just unable to take good care of the pup. Takes daily brushing, in which she might not have been able to do anymore, and if she is no longer able to drive, couldn't go get him groomed. I'm sure she meant well, but just can no longer do for him.
I had Adonis 5 years before getting Venus. They really love eachother, and love playing out back when I take them out. They both go out at the same time together. When she gets totally trained, I know they'll play good inside too, and keep eachother company when I have to go somewhere.
They both love to sit in the recliner with me and watch tv. All 3 of us, a family!
Hey, for someone who had 1 Yorkie for 5 years, I can certainly say 2 are better than 1!
So he's matted. Get him a puppy cut. I'm sure when brushed daily, he will be beautiful in no time flat. And if you can take care of 1, another isn't much more trouble at all.
