My dilemma! I have not posted in awhile, but always get good advice here, so here goes.
I got my little girl a year and a half ago, and she is four now.
She is the love of my life, and between my parents and me, very, very, seldom is she alone.
I have a family wedding to attend two hours away in a few weeks. I will be taking Sadie with me, but she will be left in a strange (large) home for about
six hours. I am actually losing sleep over this.
She does have a crate, and although she has never used it, I brought it inside about two weeks ago and put her favorite pillow, and blankets inside of it.
When I am on the computer, that is where she prefers to sleep.
Little by little, I am closing the door more and more. I am trying to decide if it is better to let her roam my brother's house when we are gone, or to crate her for six hours. Is it cruel to crate a dog for six hours? I have a difficult enough time just trying to shut the door on her. If she was not so perfect, maybe it would be easier to shut the door. LOL
Can anyone advise me on this situation? What if I just let her roam the house? She has never chewed on anything, nor wet in the house, but because this would all be strange to her, I don't know what to expect.
Sorry that this is so long, and thanks in advance.
Kate
