Default Hide n Seek

So Stump is a year old and we are still having potty problems. He started peeing on his pee pads about a month ago, and this was working great. He still has about 80% off the peeing down to his pee pads. But pooping is a diffrent story. Our yard isn't fenced in yet because we are remodeling. So if I take him outside he has to be on a leash. He won't use the pee pads, and he won't go outside because he likes to hide when he does it. So It's always either behind the couch, in the hallway, or somewhere else that no one is looking.

I thought about maybe a litter box because he can burry it like a cat.. but I just read the recent topic about litterboxes vs. peepads and I don't want my house to smell.

Anyone have any ideas?? Im hopeless at this point.

Even worse is that I'm visiting my bf and I just bought him a puppy and we've had him for 3 days and he has only had like 2 accidents!!!
