I have a fenced in backyard with a 6 foot privacy fence and I have locks on my gates.My dogs come in or out when they need to cause they have a doggy door.I do not know if you are planning on having these type items at your home but it sure has been really great for the dogs and their potty training was easier with a doggy door.
