They do great - they usually sleep all of the time we are on the road. We don't stop unless they wake up and look restless, like they need to go potty or when we need to go potty We take along dry food and water in the car - and I usually have paper towels for a throw up episode, of which we have had none (thank goodness). We take a few chew toys, which they chew on for about 5-10 minutes, then they pass out and sleep.
One caution is to watch for trash on the ground when you stop to let her go potty, it can be really bad in places. Rowdy wouldn't touch anything on the ground.....Rexy on the other hand, would eat anything, I think! So I have to really watch him.
She should do fine, if she has been OK on 1-2 hour trips - I wouldn't leave her at home. |
Ha-ha! Kacee must be related to Rexy!

Muffin was just like Rowdy. Boy! Can't they be so different?
Mine have always done great with trips - even long trips. I've always packed along my own case of emergency supplies when we traveled. Stuff for upset tummies, diarrhea, tums, bandages, hydrocortizone spray and cream, a triple anti-biotic cream, scissors, tweezers (just in case a tick shows up), and last but not least - nutrical. Occasionally, Muffin needed Nutrical, so it went everywhere with us just in case...
