That vet bill was high, but we have found here on YT that geographic location plays a big part in what vets charge. Here it would have been around $70.00! A pot belly is a sign of worms. Most wormers are given at 2 week intervals, but if the fecal test was negative and you did not see any worms expelled after the meds in her poo then maybe the vet was just deworming as a preventative measure. Do you feed a lot of doggy biscuits, sometimes these swell in their tummy causing a bloated appearance.

Here's a link how to give your own vaccines, but please disregard everything except the administering instructions. In my opinion, the vaccine recommendation ages are way too young, but I couldn't cut and paste just the instructions (or I would have). I give the parvo, distemper, adenovirus II combo shot (no lepto, no corona) at 8, 12 and 16 then a booster one year later. I actually prefer to do 9, 13, and 17 weeks, but I keep the pups very isolated. I never give rabies before 6 months and prefer waiting until closer to a year. I don't board my dogs so I also don't ever give bordatello (kennel cough) and don't recommend it.

If you do give your own shots on a regular basis, as a safety precaution I keep the individual 1 ml dose of epinephrine for emergency aniphylactic shock reactions. Never have had to use it, but it's nice to know it's there.
