Each dog varies, and size is a huge factor in lifespan. Smaller dogs can usually live up to 14yrs, but sometimes even 20. My parents had an afgahn hound that finally had to be put down at 14yrs. It depends on the health and size. For yorkies I've heard around 14, give or take a year or two.
