And I see a post here from someone whose baby won't let them cut the toenails......ooooweeee, is that a bad time here! Pilla has a FIT when I try. My vet advised that I make a "doggie burrito" first....wrap her tightly in a towel and just pull out one leg at a time. It still took my son and I both to hold her. But we discovered that if he directs her head AWAY from me and scratches her neck, she calms down. The back feet, however......another struggle, but we did it! |
Ive done that doggie burrito thing with one of my dogs and like you said its hard to hold them, but it makes it possible to get it done......my dog was alot bigger then a yorkie too and he was just a puppy! I found to do it by myself, I would sit on him (not putting weight down of course) with my bottom over him head so that I could hold him down and keep my hands free to clip. Looks ridiculous I know, and this wouldnt work for a little yorkie, but maybe a bigger one?
