I'm glad you were not shocked by that response. Many people are and in the majority of those situations, they were never aware that the situation may even raise a concern.
Your first, brief posted request merely warranted the same advice that they often receive, so no offense meant.
I certainly didn't mean to insult you as a '53 year old, college educated, responsible, professional man who knows a great deal about dogs

Equally I am well aware of what you are probably able to find for sale in the paper in FL. FL isn't so far from AL, you know...we have 8 week old and younger in the paper too.
Alas, maybe one day our 2 states will catch up to those who have already made ILLEGAL the practice of releasing dogs at such an early age. Apparently someone, somewhere thought it wasn't such a good idea.
In closing, I would never dream of asking you to prove yourself or your "knowledge" by providing a vet reference, regardless of how near or far from you they are-still trying to figure out how geographics are pertinent to the situation
-however, since you offered, I'd be glad to take you up on the offer. Feel free to disclose it to me privately if you would be more comfortable. One of the pups from our previous litter was placed with a lovely couple who reside in Naples, FL...
maybe they even use your vet or know your sister...is she in the Naples area? Breeder of Yorkies? I know they checked around and talked to several people there before they made their selection.
In any case, I look forward to learning from you what, apparently, myself and others here have not been blessed to discover as of yet.
