I don't have my girls microchipped and probably won't. I dont' live in a high crime area and the girls are never out of my site,if I have to come in the house they come with us. Right now Yorkies are the most popular toy breed in the United States (I read this in a magazine) If somebody steals an animal, even though it is microchipped, you aren't going to get it back unless they bring it to a shelter or vet to have it scanned. If they've stolen it they are not going to have it scanned. The only way I would microchip the girls is if they could be located by satellite. And let's face it....if somebody steals a yorkie they are not likely to return it.
