I know this is turning into a cat discussion, but that's okay. Siamese cats are known to be very communicative and more people oriented than most cat breeds. Each cat type has its own personality traits, just like dogs.
One thought I have about people claiming their cats don't come out..it is true that cats sleep most of the day away, however, I think cats tend to hide when their is a flurry of activity in the house - I know mine do.
If company is over, you won't see them, etc. - not all cats, but most. So I think the fact that we have these little dogs that are very active and sometimes noisy and also love to play and chase the kitties, has a lot to do with the fact that the cats are in hiding except for feeding time.
Also the bigger your house the more places for kitties to hide out, which they love to do. They love those small spots (like boxes, bags), they also like high spots and sunny spots.
Each cat is different based on their breeding and socialization as kittens. I love the statement that cats may not need as much attention, but they need just as much love. They are definitely low maintenance compared to doggies. |
