I have called myself a "cat person" all my life....until we adopted Sully. He's the best little dog!

But my love for Sully does not make my love for my beautiful cat any less. My cat, a 3yr old calico himalayan/siamese is absolutely amazing. She and I have this "connection" that no one else may ever understand. It's like she knows how I feel all the time. Her purr soothes me when I am upset, and helps me fall asleep at night. I ADORE MY CAT and can't even find the words to say just how much.

Cats and dogs are just different creatures, that's all. The moment anyone starts expecting to "read" cats reactions based on how dogs are, then they're gravely mistaken. Cats want attention, and they also communicate - just with a different language, so to speak.

My dad once told me a "joke" about cats and dogs:

"You feed a dog, love a dog, take care of a dog, play with a dog - and the dog thinks, 'WOW! My owner must be God!'

You feed a cat, love a cat, take care of a cat, play with a cat - and the cat thinks, 'WOW! I must be God!'"
