I have to say I agree with nancyc I do believe cats need human attention. I guess it depends on cat though. I had a cat once and if she thought noone was at home she would start calling for someone. It was the saddest sounding noise and I'd pop my head over the balcony to call her and she'd fly upstairs just to be with someone and she hated being upstairs. The two cats that I have now are a different story. Well at least since we got our yorkie. They tolerate her and even play with her at times but don't come out too much if she's around. One of them though religiously sleeps with us at night no matter what. And if they haven't been around us in a while they come to us purring like they've been missing us. I definately think a dog needs more attention but I don't think they need more love.
