I'm not the OP, but it's took about 2 weeks for the cats (3) to realize that Trace wasn't just visiting, he was here to stay. It wasn't simply because he's a dog, kitties 1 and 2 weren't too amused when kittie 3 came. To tell the truth, Kitty #1 probably still thinks...."what's wrong with only one cat?"LOL. The point being they adjust. The cats will now stay in the same room with the dog. I don't mean I've locked them in together. I mean we're all sitting in the family room or where ever. They venture to sniff him, though they aren't real crazy to let him recipocate. My youngest kitty is the most curious about the dog and has begun playing with him, even if it's only chase. Trace has learned all three will hiss or swat at him and eventually he'll learn when kitties don't feel like messing w/ his butt. Right now, if they tire of his antics, they jump up on something and watch from a safe distance.
