I microchip mine. But, even when that's done it doesn't mean you'll be able to find your dog! I had 2 puppies stolen off our property and we've never seen them again. One was a German Shephard and the other was a Chocolate Lab. We were given the little lab because someone dumped her on a friend and she needed a home. We bought the GSD she she would have a playmate here on the farm. Anyway... the authorities thought the people we bought the GSD from probably stole them both to sell again. We couldn't prove it though.
