I know you have to do your home work to find a really good breeder. But not every dog that comes from a pet store is in horrible health. i think the worst thing is that you are helping the puppy mills stay open. But don't these poor dogs need a home too? I can look at this like I saved him and he is our baby and we love him. After everything I have read and heard I would have a hard time trusting a pet store or a breeder... Unless you know the breeder personally how can any one KNOW they are not being lied to?

Your baby is so cute!
But not that I think of it, a few years ago I WANTED a pet store dog for all of the reasons people tell me not to get one. I'd rather get one(even if it gets sick) and give it a good life even if its only for a year or two. Its not its fault some evil people had him created under bad circumstances. That'd be like some people that dont adopt children from countries that they've heard may have issues, or dont take babies with medical conditions or deformaties(for lack of a better word). I absolutely understand not getting one b/c you dont want to go through the heartbreak, and dealing with issues they may have will be time consuming/expensive, which brings me to another thing that bothers me. Us normal everyday people should have the "perfect" yorkies from breeders without medical conditions etc. But you always see highly rich celebs with small dogs that they probably paid 3x what we did just to have them as accessories. Those people should be the ones trying to help the pet store dogs/abused dogs b/c they can afford to care for that kind of situation. I guess that's just in a perfect world.
Anyway, i'm not attacking anyone, just thinking outloud. I guess its just personal since If I was adopted i'd probably be passed around b/c of things I dealt with at the beginnig of life, only to turn out to be an absolutely normal adult. I wasn't adopted, or given up for adoption...but I could still give back to the furballs!
