Not sure where you are getting your info, but here is info from the Interceptor Novartis website..http://www.interceptor.novartis.us/

INTERCEPTOR Flavor Tabs for dogs prevent deadly heartworm disease, while protecting your dog against roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum) and whipworms (Trichuris vulpis).

INTERCEPTOR Flavor Tabs for cats are the only oral monthly preventative that protect against heartworms (Dirofilaria immitis) and remove adult roundworms (Toxocara cati) and adult hookworms (Ancylostoma tubaeforme).

As with other heartworm preventatives, pets must be tested for heartworms prior to using INTERCEPTOR Flavor Tabs. In a small percentage of treated dogs, digestive and neurological side effects may occur. In cats, safety studies at up to 10 times the label dose did not detect any adverse drug reactions.
