I live nearer to Houston and it is about $150 here if you want the blood workup & pain meds to take home with you.
Some of the vets will tell you $75 but then when you get there say, by the way, its a good idea to do a blood work up to see if she's in good enough condition for the anesthesia and that will be extra. Then when you get ready to take her home, they say, oh, did you want any pain medication to take home for her?
The NE is higher but $500-$600 for a routine spay is surely not the going rate. Let us know what you find out. Good luck.
