Default My Cry Baby

I have a 16 Week old Yorkie (Jasper) whom I’ve had since March 13th. I am having a hard time understanding why he cries so much (in my opinion). For example, not all the time, but sometimes when he’s outside he cries if I leave him out there alone (for the first month I’ve been staying outside with him, I’ve been trying to cut down on this so he’s not so dependent). This does not happen every time it just seems so random the times that it does happen. I will close the gate and he will start to bark/whine/crying. I have figured this means that he doesn’t have to go to the bathroom; however he will come right in the house and use it on the floor. Also, he cries if for example if I go out to get the mail or groceries and leave in the house.

Also, at least once during the night he has started crying usually at around 3:00am. He sleeps in the kitchen in his crate with the crate door open (and a baby gate keeps him in the kitchen). He just started doing this every night about a week ago. I usually get up and refresh his water, see if he needs to go outside, etc. He usually doesn’t respond to these things and I’m wondering if he is just lonely. I read about some people keeping him in their bedrooms, should I try this with the crate door closed?? He used to sleep in his dog bed in my room until I realized that he likes to poop behind my bed . Lastly, he wakes up again at about 5:45am. I noticed this because he starts barking about 30 minutes before I am supposed the get up for the day.

Help…Any suggestions would be helpful in this matter, cause I feel like I’m going to need a baby carrier for him .
